What is OKX DEX Aggregator+?

DEX Aggregator+ is OKX's upgraded decentralized exchange trading experience. Built on top of the existing aggregator routing, it introduces Intent Swap — a trade execution method that lets multiple professional solvers compete for your order, delivering better prices, especially on large trades.

How does Intent Swap work?

When you start a swap on OKX DEX Aggregator+, the system automatically checks whether Intent Swap can get you a better price. Here's how the full process works:

  1. Submit your trade intent. Instead of signing a transaction with fixed parameters, you sign an "intent" — a declaration expressing that you want to swap Token A for Token B under specific conditions (such as a minimum receive amount).

  2. Solvers compete. Multiple professional solvers — including OKX's in-house Solver and third-party solvers — receive your intent and compete in a batch auction to offer you the best execution price.

  3. Best price wins. The Solver with the best price wins the auction and executes your trade on-chain through a secure settlement contract.

  4. Trade settled. The winning Solver submits the transaction to the blockchain, and you receive your swapped tokens.

The process takes a few extra seconds compared to a standard swap, but the price improvement — especially on large trades — can be significant.

When you open OKX DEX Aggregator+, the system intelligently selects the best route for you. You don't need to decide whether a trade should use Intent Swap or the traditional aggregator — the system decides automatically based on:

  • Trade size. Larger trades (typically $1,000 and above) are more likely to benefit from Intent Swap. The system queries both Intent and aggregator routes and compares the results.

  • Token type. Certain assets — such as RWA (Real World Asset) tokens — are more likely to be routed through Intent Swap, as Solver liquidity may provide superior, exclusive trading channels.

  • Speed preference. In fast-execution modes (such as Meme mode or Quick Buy), the system prioritizes speed and routes directly through the aggregator.

What are the key advantages of Intent Swap?

Better prices on large trades

Solvers can tap into diverse liquidity sources — including private market makers, cross-DEX arbitrage, and proprietary strategies — delivering tighter spreads and lower slippage, especially on trades above $1,000.

Gas-free trading

When you use Intent Swap, the Solver covers the gas fee during settlement. You don't need to hold native tokens (such as ETH) to pay for gas.

MEV protection

Your trade intent isn't broadcast to the public mempool. It's sent directly to Solvers competing in a sealed auction, preventing MEV attacks at the architecture level and eliminating the risk of front-running and sandwich attacks.

Trade unique assets

Intent Swap supports RWA (Real World Asset) token trading — such as tokenized stocks and precious metals — that may only be available through Solver liquidity and can’t be traded in standard AMM pools. OKX Intent Swap settles RWA trades 50% faster than other leading intent trading solutions.

Extra: you may receive more than a standard aggregator swap

With OKX DEX Aggregator+ active, multiple Solvers compete for your order, and the final Aggregator+ quote may be better than the standard aggregator quote. This difference is called Extra. When Intent Swap is active, you'll see the estimated Extra displayed on the order panel.

How do I manage Intent Swap settings?

You can control Intent Swap from the settings panel on the swap interface:

  • On (Auto mode): The system intelligently determines whether each trade uses Intent Swap or the aggregator. Recommended for most users.

  • Off: All trades are routed through the traditional aggregator only. If you prefer the fastest execution speed and don't want to wait for Solver quotes, you can turn Intent Swap off.

Note: if you've turned off Intent Swap and entered a trade amount over $5,000, the system will display a reminder suggesting you enable Intent Swap for better pricing.

Where to find the settings

On the app (iOS/Android):

  1. Open the swap interface.

  2. Select the settings icon next to the order panel.

  3. Toggle the Intent Swap switch.

On the browser extension:

  1. Open the swap interface within the extension.

  2. Select Settings and toggle the Intent Swap switch.

What does the Intent Swap trading flow look like?

When Intent Swap is active, here's how a swap works:

  1. Enter swap details — select your tokens and amounts as usual.

  2. Wait for quotes to return.

  3. Review the recommended route. The Route field shows OKX Intent or OKX Aggregator, depending on which offers the better price.

  4. Select the swap button and sign the intent order. The signing experience is similar to a standard swap.

  5. Wait for settlement. The Solver executes your trade on-chain. Settlement times vary by chain:

Chain

Total transaction time

Ethereum

~30–60 seconds

Base

~30–60 seconds

BSC

~10–30 seconds

Arbitrum

~10–15 seconds

6. Once confirmed, you receive your tokens. You can view the transaction details in your order history.

Special case: swapping with ETH

ETH isn't an ERC-20 token, so it can't be used directly with the Intent settlement contract. If you're selling ETH and the Intent route offers a better price via WETH, the system will prompt you to switch to WETH or automatically wrap your ETH into WETH and authorize the settlement contract.

What chains and tokens does Intent Swap support?

Intent Swap currently supports Ethereum, Base, BSC, and Arbitrum (Phase 1), with more chains to follow.

RWA tokens (such as tokenized stocks and gold), major tokens, stablecoins, meme tokens, and other tokens may all be supported based on price comparison results. Larger trades are more likely to be eligible.

Note: tokens flagged as honeypots or malicious assets will not be routed through Intent Swap.

What are the fees for Intent Swap?

Intent Swap uses the same fee structure as standard OKX DEX Aggregator+ trades. There are no additional fees for using Intent Swap.

FAQ

Is Intent Swap safe?

Yes. Your funds are protected by security-audited smart contracts. The settlement contract ensures you receive at least the minimum amount specified in your intent order. If a Solver can't fulfill the order at the agreed price, the transaction is reverted and your tokens are returned to your wallet.

Why is Intent Swap slower than a regular swap?

Intent Swap uses a batch auction mechanism where multiple Solvers compete to find the best price. The bidding process takes about 2 seconds to return an initial quote, and on-chain settlement adds a bit more time on top (refer to the settlement time table for chain-specific details). It’s a trade-off — a little extra wait time for potentially better pricing, especially on larger trades.

Do I need to hold ETH (or native tokens) to pay for gas?

No. One of the core advantages of Intent Swap is gas-free execution — the Solver covers the gas fee during settlement.

Can I cancel an Intent order?

Yes. You can cancel an Intent order any time before it enters the batch auction — cancellations are processed off-chain instantly. Once a Solver has been selected, cancellation isn’t possible.

What happens if an Intent Swap fails?

If no Solver provides a valid quote, or if on-chain settlement fails, the system keeps trying to fill your order until it expires after 5 minutes. Your funds are always safe — no tokens leave your wallet unless the trade settles successfully.

Does Intent Swap support limit orders?

Limit orders aren't supported in the initial release. Support for limit orders via Intent Swap is planned for a future update.
